The town has an international airport, good road and rail connections and welcomes up to four million tourists a year, about half of the national total. With a short rainy season and low typhoon risk, Nha Trang is enjoying rapid development and further building its position as a tourist destination of choice.

Marinetek has provided a range of berthing options for the first phase of the of the marina with 4 meter-wide Heavy Duty pontoons equipped with open top cable channels and super yacht bollards. A custom-designed fuel dock pontoon is able to serve even the largest yachts.

For phase one, Marinetek supplied 225 meters of 4 meter-wide pontoons for alongside and stern-to mooring system for up to 50 vessels of 12–40 meters in length. Boaters have access to a café, good sanitary facilites, fuel dock, a 12 meter-wide slipway with 38 tons hydralic trailer boat lift and increasing number of yachting-related businesses. Krabi International Airport is nearby.

Although close to the busy tourist attractions of Ao Nang and Phang Nga Bay, Port Takola is sheltered and green set within unspoiled landscape.

All-concrete pontoons were supplied as part of the re-provisioning agreement relating to a major civil works project affecting the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter. The pontoons had to fulfill a complex specification and meet tight documentation requirement set by the Hong Kong authorities. The contract also called for relocation of some older pontoons to improve fairway alignment. RHKYC is one of the older sports clubs in Hong Kong. Kellett Island is home to the RHKYC headquarters and it enjoys unrivalled access to the harbour.

Marinetek was contracted to help meet demand by installing a dedicated superyacht pier. This provides the first 100 m superyacht berths in the region and represented a landmark introductory reference for Marinetek in South East Asia. Vessels berth on each side of the 260 m long Super Yacht Pontoon and at three additional 48 m long Super Yacht Fingers. All pontoon elements were manufactured in Johor, Malaysia, and transported 600 nm to Phuket by ocean-going barge. The marina offers a good range of shoreside facilities and leisure amenities.

The marina can berth vessels up to 30 m in length and is anchored by strong steel piles. High winds and variable water levels were taken into account for the design. The customer, Nanshan Group, is one of the 500 biggest companies in China and selected a completely bespoke marina. The project was the first to be completed by Marinetek in China.
